On the North Shore, it is coordinated by the North Shore Homelessness Task Force in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health, local municipalities, and many community organizations and churches. Sponsorship

Homelessness Action Week is a Canada-wide annual event coordinated regionally by a coalition of community organizations and all levels of government to find solutions to homelessness by connecting the homeless to resources and services and supporting community-led problem-solving, and to raise awareness of the issues, and to start the conversation around homelessness with the public.

The North Shore Homelessness Task Force (NSHTF), supported by the City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, Vancouver Coastal Health, the RCMP, and the many North Shore agencies that support and provide services to homeless and those in need support Homelessness Action Week.

On the North Shore, the NSHTF hosts a number of events such as meals, health clinics and more throughout the week, including major event – ‘Connect Day’.

Based on past years we typically have 80 or more homeless people attending throughout the day accessing free services such as meals and health clinics and accessing referrals and information on housing outreach, employment programs, income assistance help, fitness access cards, counselling/mental health programs, drug/alcohol programs and more.

Get Involved – support those less fortunate in our community

We are always looking for North Shore businesses to help us by providing products and services for Connect Day and in return receive exposure as one of our supporters on our website, at the events, as well as a letter of recognition from the NS Task Force. Here are some ways your business can get involved:

  • Donate money to be used to buy items to support for the above events
  • Volunteer your time helping out at the events!

Thank you for your consideration and we hope to hear from you soon.  Please feel free to contact us for more information and to discuss further.
