2 Ways to Get Festive While Supporting the North Shore Lookout Shelter!

Greetings!

As we transition to the holiday season, here are two fun and festive ways to support homelessness on the North Shore while getting into the joy and spirit of the season. Hope to see you there!

  1. Dundarave Festival of Lights – This festive, annual event kicks off this coming weekend and supports the Lookout Emergency Aid Society.  There are free concerts, children’s activities, craft fairs and more. To learn more, or sponsor a tree, please visit the website.

2. Burger & Beer to Support Lookout! Another fundraiser is on Dec. 13th at the Two Lions Public House. North Shore musician, Mike Bertini, will be launching a new single called ‘Joe’ about a homeless man. For more information, visit the event Facebook page and tickets can be purchased online here.

Avalon Society Presents Sisters of Soul 2 Benefit Concert

Support Avalon Society by attending this exciting evening of entertainment and inspiring music!

SISTERS OF SOUL 2 is a benefit concert and auction in support of Avalon Recovery Society. The evening will feature songs from the 80’s recorded by female artists including Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Blondie, Bonnie Tyler, Madonna, Cher and more. The Sisters of Soul are a passionate group of professional and student vocalists accompanied by widely-acclaimed Michael Creber and his band.

Dundarave Festival of Lights – Support North Shore Transitional Housing

This Saturday Nov. 30th marks the start of the @DundaraveFest Festival of lights on Dundarave Beach in West Vancouver. Each Saturday, a full day of concerts is presented in a field of 100 Christmas trees on the beach, all to help raise awareness about homelessness, bring the community together, and raise funds for Lookout’s North Shore Housing Centre transitional housing.

Connect Day Free Transportation – Shuttle bus route and times now published!

A shuttle bus will be travelling around the North Shore all day to provide rides from various locations in North and West Vancouver to the John Braithwaite Community Centre in Lower Lonsdale where Connect Day will take place (on October 16th 8-3PM).

Please note that all times below are approximate, bus pick-up will be in front of the locations. Everyone is welcome to attend Connect Day to access free health services, resources, clothing, and a hot Thanksgiving meal provided by the Salvation Army.
